Lauren Katie Bell, born on January 2, 2001, in Swindon, Wiltshire, is a rising star in English women’s cricket. Nicknamed "The Shard" due to her tall stature, she had a sporting background from a young age, including playing for Reading FC's youth football academy until the age of 16. Her academic journey took her to Bradfield College in Berkshire, where she made history by becoming the first girl to play for the school’s First XI cricket team. Her early exposure to high-level sport laid the foundation for a promising career in cricket.

Bell’s domestic cricket journey began impressively at the age of 14 when she debuted for Berkshire in the 2015 Women's County Championship. She gained further experience with a loan spell at Middlesex in 2019 and represented Southern Vipers in the Women's Cricket Super League from 2018 onward.
